Ausie Junior Hinson passed away peacefully in his sleep June 11, 2013. Ausie "Buddy" was born in Meridian, MS on April 18, 1927. He was the eldest of three sons Audie & Ausie Hinson, Sr. He was preceded in death by two younger brothers, Forrest Allman and Thomas Jerry Hinson. Mr. Hinson served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1966. Retired as GMM1/E6. His family moved to Charlotte where he worked as an appliance repair technician at Westinghouse Consiumer Service where he became the tead technician and shop manager. He was the eldest of three sons Audie & Ausie Hinson, Sr. He was preceded in death by two younger brothers, Forrest Allman and Thomas Jerry Hinson. Mr. Hinson served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1966. Retired as GMM1/E6. His family moved to Charlotte where he worked as an appliance repair technician at Westinghouse Consiumer Service where he became the tead technician and shop manager. When microwaves for the home became available Ausie was known as the first and only repair technician on the East Coast that culd service them. He retired from Westinghouse in 1996. He is survived by his wife Lynette Hinson, sons Gary David who lives in Columbus OH and Jeffery Wade who lives in Rock Hill SC, one grandson, one grandaughter and three great grandchildren. Upon his second retirement, his favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening and going to the Mississippi Casinos to play poker at which he was very lucky. Mr. Hinson was a member of the Paw Creek American Legion in Charlotte for 41 years, he also belonged to the Fleet Reserve. Ausie who went by the nickname "Buddy" is remembered for his smiling face and his laughter. As per Mr. Hinson's wishes there will be no formal viewing or services. In lieu of flowers Mr. Hinson wished for donations in his name to be sent to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Protective Fund.
