USS LYNDE MCCORMICK (DDG-8) ALL HANDS ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the membership meeting of Saturday, September 18, 2021, at our All Hands Reunion to celebrate the 60th year of the commissioning of our ship. We are the USS LYNDE McCORMICK (DDG-8) ALL HANDS ASSOCIATION.  It is a North Dakota Non-Profit Corporation organized under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code. All of the shipmates who served on board her at any time (including embarked staff members) during its 30 years of commissioned service from 1961 through 1991 are considered members.

The meeting was called to order by our President Bob Wefald. Acting Treasurer indicated we had sufficient money in our bank account to cover all of our reunion expenses. The main item of business was to elect a Board of Directors and Officers. After discussion and persuasion, the current BOD members – Bob Wefald, Shel Margolis, and Bert Moll, recruited, appointed and installed a complete Board of Directors, and new officers. Joining hold over BOD members Shel Margolis and Bert Moll are Barry Hardman, Dave Bussen, and Mitch Zylow. The names and addresses of the members of the Board of Directors are:

Schedule of Events

Our Friday evening reception on September 17th features a Fiesta Poolside Reception with light appetizers, starting poolside at 1700 with a cash bar, and then moving to our the Marina overlook patio and dining room at 1800 for our dinner, a Mexican Fiesta Buffet.

The Friday evening reception is $70 (per person)

Saturday event – ship tour – cost $30 – ( this is transportation by bus for a ship tour, designation of ship is unknown at this time)

Our Saturday banquet on September 18th features your choice of:
Filet Mignon, or Herb Grilled Salmon or Vegetable Napoleon. Our banquet will be served, preceded by a Social Hour with a cash bar starting at 5:00 followed by our banquet in our dining room at 1800.

The Saturday evening banquet is $80 (per person)

Financial Help

The USS Lynde McCormick Reunion Association is now an official non profit organization with bylaws. It consists of a board of 5 elected representatives and the former crewmates of the USS Lynde McCormick DDG 8. The USS Lynde McCormick Reunion Association was voted into existence on September 17, 2004 by the shipmates in attendance at the 2004 reunion in San Diego. (see bylaws page)

We need financial help by donations from you, our shipmates.

The reunion association plans and implements the reunions and supports this web site. The association costs consist of postage, office supplies, banking, etc. This is a non profit organization and no one gets a salary or benefits. (no free rooms, etc.) Any of you who wish to get that wonderful feeling of satisfaction by donating $10, $20, or more, to the support of this reunion association and this web site, now have the opportunity to pay online with a credit card
